[2020/Review] By Wishtrend: Pure Vitamin C 15% with Ferulic Acid

Notable ingredients:

  • 15% of Ascorbic acid: is water-soluble vitamin (Vitamin C), beneficial effects on skin cells, prevent and treat ultraviolet (UV)-induced photodamage, effective antioxidant and brightening care.
  • Ferulic acid: is a plant-based antioxidant, helps to increase its photoprotection. Ferulic acid works well with Vitamin C, and studies have shown that Ferulic acid helps to stabilize Vitamin C since Vitamin C degrades quickly when being exposed to sunlight.
  • Vitamin Tree Water:  maximizes the antioxidant effect from Vitamin C and helps strengthen the skin barrier.

Something to note down:

  • Vitamin C serum is sensitive to sunlight. In order to enhance its effectiveness, I only incorporate this product in my night time skin care routine. Remember to wear sunscreen that has a high SPF in the morning.

About my skin concern: I have oily-combination skin, I do have pores and I sometimes experience break out. The tip of my nose usually gets dry at night though…

Like other Vitamin C serum, to protect it from degradation, the packaging is in opaque, amber glass bottle. This is a watery serum, and it absorbs into my skin pretty quick. During the tested time, before applying the serum, I only used the By Wishtrend Acid Duo Mild Gel Cleanser and the I’m from Rice toner.

I have been using this for 2 weeks, and in general, I have not experienced any tackiness, break out or irritation – which means 15% ferulic acid is a great ratio, gentle enough for my skin type. I had had some broken pimples before testing this serum, and while testing, those scars healed and flattened out gradually! I didn’t expect to see a great result from a vitamin C serum, but my skin tone has evened out and brightened so much! My skin loves it, I would say. However, if you want to get or to see a better result like me, you will need to use this serum consistently.
